What are Retainer Services?
Retainer Services give you access to a professional designer, on a consistent basis, without the overhead costs of an employee.
Essentially, if you know you will need design services throughout the year, but don’t want to hire a full-time designer, Retainer Services are a great option for you.
How do Retainer Services work?
A monthly design fee is paid up front each month before work is ordered.
You are guaranteed a certain amount of work each month, and don't have to worry about fluctuating design fees.
You retain a specific amount of hours on my calendar each month, with a priority on my workload.
MINI RETAINER
10 hours per month (2.5 hours per week)
1 monthly call to review needed projects
Investment: $650/month
BASIC RETAINER
20 hours per month (5 hours per week)
1 monthly call to review needed projects
Investment: $1,200/month
PREMIUM RETAINER
40 hours per month (10 hours per week)
1 monthly call to review needed projects
Investment: $2,200/month
Retainer Service Details:
What is the commitment? 3 month minimum commitment. We will reevaluate the program at the end of 3 months to ensure that the amount of hours fits your business needs. We can then switch to 6, 9, or 12 month commitments after that.
What if I need extra hours on a given week? A fixed number of hours per week is included in any retainer. Overage hours per week will be billed at the normal hourly rate of $65 per hour if additional hours that week are needed (for example, if you have a deadline that can not wait).
What happens to unused hours? At the end of each week, unused hours expire. This is to guarantee that each week I can allocate time for your projects and schedule my workload accordingly.
When is payment due? You will get an invoice on the first day of each month. Invoice will include the monthly retainer rate for that month and any additional charges from previous month. Payment is due before the current month’s work can begin.
What type of services can be used in the Graphic Designer Retainer programs?
Print Materials – direct mailers, brochures, event materials, signage
Digital Materials – email templates, social media graphics, blog banners, and other web graphics
Ad Design - print and web ads
Services do not include additional costs like stock photography & fonts
Additional services are available upon request.
Please note: Services do not include logo design. Logos will be quoted separately.
I would like to proceed, what do I do next?
1. Contact me. I'll set up a 30-minute phone call. We'll review your business needs and upcoming projects. I want to learn all about your project and goals.
2. First payment. After the first retainer fee is paid, we will discuss all your projects for the month.
3. Repeat. We will repeat the process each month for the remainder of the program you selected.
4. Reevaluate. We will revise the program at the end of your contract and see if you need to change the amount of hours reserved each month before signing again.
